Vision

I have many different visions about my own future.
The first goal that in my mind always is to graduate from Baruch College, I am planning to graduate at next summer or fall, right now I am having 92 credits, there are 11 more classes for me to take. It is a challenge for me to finish 11 classes in the next coming winter, spring, and summer sections, plus I have a full time job =( , but I am going to try my best to get it done, since I am taking 18 credits this semester and only a little mess so far, nothing I can’t handle yet.
My second goal is to work in an investment bank, but I know it is not the right time to talk about this kind job, everyone in the finance section are seeking this kind job, (plus under current massive layoffs from banks). This goal may take time to complete, but I am always willing to have a try.
My third goal is to have a MBA degree or a CFA certificate. Either one of them would work. I am a little tent to get a CFA certificate than get a MBA degree because it is cheaper in price and shorter in time. I understand there is a lot work to be done to get a CFA certificate, but it always worth a try.
There are many other goals in my mind still, but these three goals are my mainly concerned.

You guy is a pretty good manage person. Working full time, a full time student, and continueing studying without summer vacation. Arn't you tired? I felt you will say " No" right? You are already count on all in your mind, such as time, money and specific goal. Your visions are going to become true soon because you have just 11 credits. However, I wanted you to say that if you sometimes feel tired, you just relax from all even one day. It could be your good energy for acieving your goal. I am pretty sure you will do that.

It looks as if you have a pretty good vision of what you would like to accomplish, which is a great. Good luck with trying to fulfill your vision...and I just gotta say taking 18 credits this semester while having a full time job is a pretty amazing accomplishment.

Well, I think your first goal is very short term, but very difficult as well. But it seems that you are managing it which is quite remarkable considering that you have a full time job. I'd like to know how you manage your time between work and school. And I would also like to work in an investment bank. The outlook is not so good, but I believe there is a way if you have a vision and take action.

It is true that to get a MBA degree or CFA certificate is important since it will give you a higher payment and better opportunity to find a job. But i am wondering, what kind of full job are you working right now? Is it related to finance field? If not, i recommend you to do an internship for finance first, then worry about the degrees.

I love your goals because they are attainable and not hard to reach. You are most done at Baruch which is one in the box and another to 2 to go. Your banking job is not impossible once you get that CFA. Banks usually hire you once you get it. Get your CFA and watch those opportunities open up.
